Past winners

“It was great to see my work in Arles, exhibited there for the first time. The work was beautifully printed and framed. The gallery was perfect for the theme of the exhibition, set inside a beautiful townhouse just off the main square.”

– Jasper White, OpenWalls Arles 2019 Shortlist

“Les Rencontres d’Arles is very intense. Without a personal arrangement with British Journal of Photography, it would have been difficult to establish contacts with the wonderful people who visited the opening of the OpenWalls exhibition. OpenWalls Arles gave me access to the most interesting people in the world of photography

– Urszula Tarasiewicz, OpenWalls Arles 2019 Winner

“When you send your image off to a photography award you often don’t know what it’s going to look like, but walking into the OpenWalls Arles exhibition, I was impressed. The selection of work was great and very varied, and I love how it had been presented and framed. Galerie Huit Arles is such a beautiful space and quite different to most of the venues in Arles.”

– Jocelyn Allen, OpenWalls Arles Shortlist 2019
