Youth of Belfast

Home defines an important aspect of identity. In Northern Ireland, Catholic Nationalists and Protestant Loyalists see their ancestral home, but don’t want to share it with each other. Therefore, daily life is characterized by separation and segregation, even today. More and more young people want to leave and restart far away from home. This photograph depicts Brendan behind a separating police line at Carrick Hil.
